Hey records is a label of Michel de Hey. Michel is somewhat of a internationally known techno hero, and he asked me to re-design his standard sleeves for Hey records and EC records. As freelancer I don’t have to answer to a boss of sorts, and Michel is not to hard on me as a client, so I rejected these sleeves myself.
These sleeves are loosely based on a pop-art feel artworks ’cause I think the logo (given) is a strong reference to Lichtensteins work… (eventually I made a sleeve with a target that reminds of Jasper Johns’ target works).
On the first one used the letraset sheets a reference, or rather DECAdry in this case. I’ve got this sheet lying around the studio a while now, and for some reason I think it looks absolutely great (It will end up in some design eventually!).
